The 12 Days of Illumination: Day 3
What is the highest and best use of your talents?
Welcome to Day 3 of The 12 Days of Illumination, a special daily dose of inspiration and easy-to-incorporate insights running from December 20 through the end of the year. Be sure to check out the archives to catch up on previous issues, and feel free to share this one with your friends. Or better yet, invite them to join our Illuminate Me tribe!
Hey, you know that thing you do that people always seem to comment on, repeatedly rave about, and generally marvel at?
It’s probably something that comes so naturally and effortlessly to you that you take it for granted, brushing off any compliments. You assume it’s no big deal and that others can do it too.
Over and over again, I find that people don’t appreciate or acknowledge their inherent gifts.
They undervalue them because, unfortunately, they don’t see them as gifts at all. They mistakenly believe them to be mundane, unimportant, and run-of-the-mill and that they come easy to everyone else.
Today, I’d like you to take a few minutes to be more mindful and appreciative of your gifts, allowing the ones that perhaps you’ve pushed aside or ignored for years to rise to the surface of your awareness.
Embracing them and putting them to their highest and best use is the greatest gift you can give to the world—and yourself.
P.S. Now that we’re inbox-exclusive, you might want to follow my musings across the interwebs on Forbes, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
P.P.S. When I’m not creating daily doses of illuminating insights, I’m a social media ghostwriter. (Yep, that’s a thing). I help founders, entrepreneurs, and CXOs craft their stories to communicate and connect better by magnifying their reach and impact. (Think personal branding and thought leadership.) Learn more here.
